RepresentAsian: An Evening of Asian Talent

Our Story
RepresentAsian: An Evening of Asian Talent was founded by Ben Armstrong in 2021, after he was disheartened by the lack of Asian representation and diversity in theatre, on and off stage. Since its creation, RepresentAsian has had 6 sold-out shows at the Phoenix Arts Club and RepresentAsian is now recognised throughout the industry for being boundary-breakers for the Asian community, who continue to spark change, inspire, educate and provide accessible opportunities.
In 2024, Ben and Aixa began their collaboration in hopes of taking RepresentAsian to the West End, and a year later with Conrad Ricamora (Oh, Mary!, A Chorus Line, Little Shop of Horrors)and Maria David as their biggest supporters and in partnership with Dishoom, RepresentAsian had its debut West End concert at the Lyric Theatre in October 2025.
Our mission is to celebrate some of the best Asian musical theatre performers in the country and introducing new talent to the West End stages. Our aim is to provide access and opportunity, promote diversity and inclusivity, and to highlight the very best of what Asian artists can do, fundraising to continue creating scholarships for young, Asian individuals to train in the arts, and widen the talent pool, partnering up The Boury Academy.
RepresentAsian will return to the Lyric Theatre once again with a star-studded cast, including Hamilton and Prince of Egypt star Christine Allado, Hiba Elchikhe of Everybody’s Talking About Jamie and Titanique, with Zheng Xi Yong, best known for Your Lie in April, and the recent revival of American Psycho, and Mia Kobayashi, who starred in Your Lie in April, 42nd Street and A Chorus Line. Hosted by Eastenders icon and star of Now That’s What I Call A Musical Nina Wadia.
